 COMPLIANCE OFFICER

KEY DUTIES

  • The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
  • Prepare schedules and timetables for the inspection of management practices
  • Keep up to date checks for motor vehicle compliance for all company vehicles E.G Road Tax, insurance etc.
  • Conduct periodic assessment of an organization’s operations to ensure they are in line with external and internal regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies necessary for minimizing risk of non-compliance
  • Produce and interpret reports of inspection to provide information useful in taking appropriate business decisions
  • Correct and address issues of non-compliance in a manner that limits recurrence and promotes adherence to set rules
  • Organize training programs to enlighten company staff on the benefits and consequences associated with either complying or defying external or internal regulations
  • Prepare for external compliance audits by carrying out internal audits to ensure all regulatory requirements are maintained
  • Perform laboratory or technical tests on company products, equipment or environment when conducting compliance inspection
  • Attend educational programs and conferences to stay up-to-date on regulatory developments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate;
  • IT Qualification desirable;
  • Exposure to the mining industry;
  • Must have a Valid drivers’ license;
  • Working knowledge of ISO Standards;
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the respective field.
