Meanwood General Insurance Company is a fully Zambian owned company engaged in the provision of general insurance and has a good branch network spread across the Country. The Company is restructuring to strategically reposition itself in the market and seeks to recruit a talented and experienced professional to fill the following position.

FINANCE MANAGER

Reporting to the General Manager. The Company seeks to recruit an Insurance/Finance professional to fill the position of Finance Manager to be based in Lusaka – H/Q. The Finance Manager shall be responsible for providing efficient and timely financial accounting reporting. Oversee the day-to-day operations ofthe Finance Department, be responsible for the Company’ s Accounting and Financial Management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide effective strategic financial planning information.
  • Provide controllership functions to ensure that finances are managed in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures and international financial reporting standards.
  • Plan, develop, introduce and manage financial systems to support the operations of the Company in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Strengthen the implementation of existing financial management systems.
  • Ensure timely preparation of the company’s annual revenue, expenditure and capital budgets in line with laid down guidelines.
  • Management of Company assets.
  • Ensure timely submission of Financial Reports for Stakeholders. i.e. Management, Board, Regulators and Statutory’ Bodies/lnstitutions.
  • Facilitate annual external audits and any other related requirements.
  • Supervision of Accounting/Finance staff.

Key Qualifications, Qualities & Competencies

  • Full ACCA/ CIMA/Degree in Finance.
  • MBA or Masters in Finance/Accounting is an added advantage.
  • Be a member of ZICA.
  • At least five years working experience in the General Insurance industry at Management level
  • Sensible judgment and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in relevant Accounting Packages/Software.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Results oriented.
  • Team player.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Good communication skills (oral & written).
  • Should be honest und have integrity.
  • In possession of a clean and valid driving license.
