EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – PRINCIPAL
The Management Board of Kabwe Institute of Technology which is situated in Kabwe along Mukobeko Road in the Central Province of Zambia invites applications from mature and suitable candidates to fill the position of Principal Kabwe Institute of Technology (KIT) dates back to 1943 and is under the Ministry of Higher Education. In January 2000 it was established as a Management Board through the Technical, Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Act No. 13 of 1998. The Institute offers courses in Mechanical, Construction, Business and Education Studies.
The Institute is accredited to TEVETA for all Technical and Vocational Course Certificates and Diplomas it is also affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University which underwrites all Diploma and Degree courses in Education
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for effective leadership of the Institute through planning, control, directing and coordination of all activities in order to attain institutional goals.
The Principal will be expected to implement Management Board and Ministry of Higher Educations decisions as well as policies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Implementation of Government and Board polices/guidelines
- Manage and supervise Academic and Support Staff in order to enhance higher production/ and quality assurance
- Manage day to day affairs of the Institute
- Market the Institute and liaise with Industry and other Stakeholders to create synergies
- Drive the Strategic Policy of the Institute
- Manage effectively the Institute’s Financial and other resources in order to attain Institutional objectives
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Board or the Ministry
- Provide monthly reports Board on the financial and other activities of the Institute
Reporting Relationships:
- The Principal will report to the Chairperson of the Kabwe Institute of Technology Management Board
Qualifications:
- Full Grade 12 certificate
- A Masters degree in Education or other relevant field or its equivalent
- A minimum of five years’ experience at senior management level
- A minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience preferably in Vocational and Technical Education
- At least 35 years of age
