The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation Plc (ZAFFICO) is a parastatal organization responsible for establishing annd managing exotic forest plantations in the country. The Corporation’s mission is to establish and sustainably manage forest plantations and supply quality wood and other forest products to its clients, pursuance of its mission, the Corporation is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the under listed position:
PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER (4 YEAR CONTRACT)
JOB PURPOSE
To lead in the development and implementation of communication and campaigns strategies/ programmes airned at increasing public awareness on the activities, objectives, projects and programmes of the Corporation.
MAIN DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB HOLDER
- Develop and implement communication and media outreach campaign strategies and plans in order to raise public awareness on the activities of the Corporation in line with the Corporation’s Strategic Objectives;
- Co-ordinate and organize all information and communication activities and programmes in line with the Corporation’s strategic priorities;
- Manage, media relations as well as develop a network of media personnel;
- Create and manage the Corporation’s communication media tools content such as pamphlets, brochures, website and ensure that the information is up-to-date;
- Prepare responses to queries raised by members of the public or other persons or interest groups and issue press statements on behalf of the Corporation, upon approval by the Managing Director:
- Prepare medium term wark plans and expedite their framework and budget to put effect the Corporation’s activities on the communication of the Corporation Affairs;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports detailing activities undertaken by the unit.
- Provide an indication of matters that are of interest to the Corporation, i.e. monitoring media activities going on in the country pertaining to the operation of the Corporation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Degree in Mass Media Communication/Journalism or related field
- Five (5) years relevant experience in a reputable organisation with a traceable record
- Experience with graphics and art will be an added advantage
