Promoting Respectful Maternal Care in Chipata District
Scope of Work: Research Assistant
July 2019
Breakthrough-RESEARCH (B-R) is supporting the SM360+ project and the District Health Office of Chipata to implement, monitor, and evaluate solutions to promote respectful maternal care. This project is being led by ideas42 in collaboration with the Population Council. To support this work, B-R is seeking a Research Assistant based in Zambia with availability to work in Chipata to support monitoring and evaluation activities from August through December 2019. These activities may include:
- Conduct interviews or surveys with midwives and other providers who attend deliveries using a structured guide
- Conduct interviews or surveys with supervisors or clinical mentors in facilities using a structured guide
- Conduct interviews or surveys with women who have given birth in the previous months using a structured guide in their households, communities, or facilities
- Visit facilities and take notes using a structured form
- Send content from interviews, notes, and surveys to project team
- Join calls with the project team to debrief on findings
Qualifications
- Two years qualitative research data collection methods.
- Minimun of 2years experience working in a clinic environment.
- Fluent in english, Chewa and Nyanja.
- Resident of Chipata..
- Full grade 12 certificate.
- Minimum Diploma in social work or related field.
