Zambia Sugar Plc, is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd Group, and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and ma rketing of sugar and other sugar down stream products.

The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:

SALES REPRESENTATIVE (1 POSITION, FIRST LINE MANAGEMENT) – COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT

The position reports to the Domestic Sales Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the business achieves and grows sales volume and revenue targets in a specified territory and Build and manage relationships with Resellers / Stockists through a partnering approach that adds value to the Customer and Group. The operational performance covers embedding the development of market opportunities, manage territory customer data base and drive commercialisation and customer centricity

Key performance areas

  • Achieve and grow sales volume and revenue targets in a specified territory.
  • Execute the Group Sales Service Offering and Perfect Store Guideline (PSG) for different trade segments in assigned tenitory.
  • Provide input into sales targets for the territory and individual customers, track sales performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Own customer relationships in the assigned territory, through understanding of the Customer’s business, effective customer communication and collaboration with Logistics and Finance to ensure delivery against commitments
  • Influence orders to meet sales targets and grow sales volumes, through effective customer reviews and application of sa les call stories and profit conversations
  • Support Trade Marketing campaigns, both through direct activities and guidance to company and third party employees
  • Identify and report on market tren ds and competitor activity
  • Monitor and reporton adherence to quality standards in the trade
  • Collaborate with Telesales / customer service/ Credit control to deliver customer service and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Promote and adhere to Group’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to Safety Health Environment Risk & Quality (SHERQ), Competition LawandAnti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Minimum specifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Commerce/ Marketing is an added advantage.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in sales and marketing
  • Business acumen;
  • Customer focus;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively;
  • Influencing and negotiating skills;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Planning and time management skills;
  • Drive and ability to leam
  • Clean and valid driving license
