Goldenlay Agri Ltd is the largest producer, supplier and distributor of table eggs across Zambia, and boasting a brand familiar to retailers and consumers alike. Goldenlay is hereby inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates to fill the following position:
1. POWER ELCTRICIAN
Purpose of position
To design, install, and repair electrical power systems, which will include communications, lighting, and control networks. Ensure that all assigned tasks (jobs) are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Preventative maintenance.
- Inspect, maintain, fault find, repair and test the production machinery (ventilation fans, water pumps, generators, motors, egg wrapping and packing machines, conveyer belts), and ensure planned tasks (jobs) and emergency tasks are completed in a satisfactory manner. Perform tests to ensure all planned tasks have met reliability standards.
- Attend to breakdown immediately and ensure serious accidents are reported to authorities and company senior management.
- Install and wire electrical equipment in new buildings.
- Ensure generators have fuel in case of emergencies.
- Change the direction of the hammer mill.

Qualification & Experience

- Craft Certificate in Power Electrical / Electricity from a recognized college/University, diploma & degree will be an added advantage

2. MECHANIC
Purpose of position
The servicing and repairs for all company heavy duty machinery and vehicles according to procedure. Ensure that all assigned tasks (jobs) are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Preventative maintenance.
- Daily inspections on all fleet machinery and equipment, according to checklist.
- Repair and service mechanical works of generator sets, machinery and vehicles and ensure planned tasks (jobs) and emergency tasks are completed in a satisfactory manner. Perform tests so as to ensure all planned tasks are have met reliability standards. Obtain Operations manager sign off.
- Receive reports of faults from divers. Perform fault finding and identification tasks which are added into the Repair and service schedule.
- Attend to breakdown immediately and ensure serious accidents are reported to authorities and company senior management.
- Draw spares from stores according to procedure.
- Ensure all tools are accounted for and returned after use.
- Ensure workshop and surroundings are always clean and tidy. Clean up after you

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma in Heavy Duty Mechanics / Mechanical Technology / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized college/University, a degree will be an added advantage.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
3. MECHANICAL FITTER
Purpose of position
The maintenance and repairs for all production machinery according to procedure. Ensure that all assigned tasks (jobs) are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Preventative maintenance.
- Inspect, maintain, repair and test the production machinery (Egg collection machine, cages, feeding system, trollies and tension feeder cables, manure remover, anaconda chain, ventilation systems of fans and fittings, gear boxes and reduction units), and ensure planned tasks (jobs) and emergency tasks are completed in a satisfactory manner. Perform tests to ensure all planned tasks have met reliability standards.
- Attend to breakdown immediately and ensure serious accidents are reported to authorities and company senior management.

4. BOILER MAKER
Purpose of position
The maintenance and repairs for all production machinery according to procedure. Ensure that all assigned tasks (jobs) are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Preventative maintenance.
- Read, interpret sketches, diagrams and drawings for projects.
- Produce metal products. Fabricate and assemble metal structures
- Ensure that planned tasks (jobs) and emergency tasks are completed in a satisfactory manner. Ensure works undertaken comply with company safety standards
- Maintain and pack away welding equipment. Report any incidents or damages immediately

Qualification & Experience

5. PLUMBERS
Purpose of position
To install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures. Ensure that all assigned tasks (jobs) are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect humidification/water pumps, cooling pads, wire mesh, facco ventilators, and ensure installation (of plumbing), maintenance, service, repair tasks and emergency tasks are completed in a satisfactory manner. Perform tests to ensure all planned tasks have met reliability standards.
- Check water levels at water tanks around the farm.
- Fix water leaks and repair catchments
- Unblock and empty soak-aways
- Empty septic tanks and maintain sewerage systems
- Fit and assemble pumps

- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
