Ever wondered what celebrities did before they became famous? Whether you want to be a celebrity or not it is important to remember that everybody has to start somewhere. In this article we take a fun look at some of the jobs that celebrities did before they became famous.

1. Beyonce – Singer

American singer, songwriter and actress Beyonce may have earned a $500 million but do you know what Beyonce’s first job was? Apparently Beyonce’s first job was sweeping up hair in her mother’s hairdresser’s. No doubt she picked up a lot of style and fashion tips whilst working! Oh and her husband Jay-Z is worth a similar amount. Let’s hope it isn’t a case of more money, more problems.

2. David Beckham – Footballer

David Beckham is well known for his football skills. During his football career he played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, PSG and played over 100 times for the English national team. Together with his pop star wife, Beckham is estimated to be worth a over $500 million!  This is a long way from Beckham’s first job collecting empty bottles and cleaning up used cigarettes.

3. Oprah Winfrey – Broadcaster & Philanthropist

One of the most well-known broadcasters in the world, Oprah Winfrey has an estimated personal wealth of over US$2 billion. However, as a youngster Oprah worked in the corner grocery store next to her father’s barber shop.

4. Barak Obama – Former US President

Arguably the most powerful person in the world, Barack Obama’s first job was that of as an ice cream attendant.

5. Warren Buffet – Investor & Philanthropist

Regarded as one of the richest people in the world with an estimated fortune of over US$50 billion, Warren Buffet is incredibly wealthy. However, this was not always the case, Buffet’s first job was the same as Oprah Winfrey’s – a grocery assistant.
