Main purpose of the job

The primary purpose of the job of an Academic Consultant will be to serve as an instructor enriching and supporting teaching and learning activities and processes at the School of Working Adults Program (SWAP). The Academic Consultant will draw on his/her industry experience, subject area expertise, and professional networks. The Academic Consultant will be required to use modern technology and modern pedagogy to facilitate learning and to ensure that students graduate with learning outcomes that make them entrepreneurial and employable. The success of Academic Consultant will be measured, primarily, in terms of students’ learning outcomes.

Qualifications and work experience

  1. Relevant PhD from a recognized University (desirable) or
  2. Relevant Masters’ degree from a reputable University or
  3. A current and re-known industry practitioner, with at least 7 years of experience
  4. Upper (preferable) or middle-management level current employment or record of successful entrepreneurship
  5. Professional course in relevant field desirable
  6. Previous teaching experience, with the ability to facilitate and enhance learning (highly desirable)
