ACCOUNTANTS – (3)

NWK Agri-Serwces a leading Agricultural company wholly owned by Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) and closely working with the Zambian farmers in cotton origination and processing, commodity buying and storage. The company has its foot print in, the Eastern, Central, Southern and Copperbelt provinces.

In order to support its financial management and control function ,the company is seeking to engage dynamic, highly driven and results orientated persons to positions of Accountants (3) on pensionable terms to be based at some of our sites.

Job Purpose

Day to day accounting and management of company funds in order to ensure prudent utilization, security, accountability and accurate reporting at assigned site/location.

Main Accountabilities

  • Making payments for cotton, commodities, petty cash, utility bills & various other payments to ensure the company meets all its obligations
  • Preparation of the crop payments reconciliations on a weekly basis to present the analysis of funds received against utilisation.
  • Counting of crop funds cash balance on a weekly basis in the presence of the Verification Officer & sign cash count certificate. as part and proof of the crop reconciliation
  • Ensure that all supporting ducuments attached to the approved payment vouchers, for accurate record purposes.
  • Capturing of all payments transactions & other inputs in the ACCPAC accounting system for updating of the monthly accounts
  • Custody of company funds/cash using safes & other reasonable security measures to prevent
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation in order to reconcile bank account record to ACCPAC ledger transactions.
  • Representing the company at the bank as an agent to ensure all banking transactions are adequately attended to
  • Preparation of monthly operational funds budgets to ensure expenditure conforms to budget facilitate timely funding, for smooth running of the region’s operations
  • Uploading electronic payments on the mbile platform & prepare monthly reconciliations, to ensure accountability for all transactions
  • Control & monitor of diesel issued to hired transporters and capturing of transport diesel issue note on ICS for deductions to be made, to ensure there are no diesel stock losses
  • Timely provision of required accounting information to internal auditors end external auditors for independent verification of transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL REQUIRMENTS

  • Full grade twelve certificates with at least five O levels two of which must be credit or better in English and Mathematics.
  • Must be a member of ZICA
  • Zica Licentiate (full) or ACCA level Il or Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution.
  • Two years hands on experience with knowledge of maintenance of accounting records.
  • Excellent ICT knowledge and skills especially Excel with experience in using Accpac
  • Upto date with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • At least 8 years and above.
  • Must have an eye for detail tan urge for accuracy with a high level of integrity
