CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: SOCIAL CHANGE CHAMPIONS IN AGRICULTURE
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 9th May 2025
ActionAid Zambia (AAZ) is pleased to announce a call for applications from passionate and committed individuals interested in promoting sustainable and inclusive agricultural systems in Zambia. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen civic engagement and policy influence in agriculture and climate justice, we seek to identify 20 Social Change Champions across Lusaka, Chipata, Mansa, Gwembe, and Monze.
This initiative aims to amplify diverse voices and ideas through creative writing and local advocacy, with a focus on enhancing community-led solutions and accountability in agriculture.
INVITATION FOR CREATIVE SUBMISSIONS
Applicants are invited to submit original written pieces on one or more of the following thematic areas:
- Agroecology and sustainable farming practices
- Climate change and its impact on agriculture
- The role of women in agriculture
- Social accountability within the agriculture sector
Submissions will be assessed on:
- Creativity and originality
- Relevance and depth of insight
- Alignment with the overall goals of promoting sustainable and equitable agricultural systems
Successful applicants will:
- Be linked to relevant platforms at national, regional, and global levels based on their individual strengths and interests
- Receive capacity strengthening support in advocacy, communication, and policy engagement
- Be positioned to contribute meaningfully to national dialogue and policy influence in agriculture
Please note: This initiative is designed to provide non-financial support. While no direct monetary support will be provided, selected champions will benefit from strategic engagement opportunities and tailored capacity building.
Selected Social Change Champions will be expected to:
- Serve as role models in promoting women’s and youth participation in agri-food systems
- Mobilise communities for dialogue sessions aimed at enhancing social accountability in agricultur
- Actively lead or support advocacy efforts at community, district, and national levels
