We are looking to recruit a Commercial Manager to join the team.

Based in Lusaka, Zambia the successful candidate will be reporting to the General Manager of FMCG entity and will be required to set, align and implement the format strategy across the organisation by being the liaison between Store Operations and the Commercial Divisions. You will plan, propose, and align the company on customer reward programs and ensure all commercial KPIs are achieved: sales, margin, customer growth, stock, house brands, RTC, market share.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Customer Management (acquire and maintain customers)
  • Negotiation with stakeholders
  • Maintain, develop and nurture supplier relations
  • Develop and implement retail strategy
  • Analysing information/data to draw accurate conclusions
  • Develop and implement action plans to enable the attainment of financial goals

Requirements
You need to have:

  • Certifications in Retail, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a Related Field
  • Team orientation and strong leadership skills
  • Sound knowledge of buying fundamentals
  • Judgement and Decision Making skills
  • Networking and Relationship Building
  • Good Communications skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Excellent Negotiation and Influencing skills
  • Results Orientated with proactive work attitude
  • Commercial and Financial Acumen including strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Manage multiple priorities with competing demands
  • Strong Supplier relations is essential
  • Advanced Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Must be able to handle extensive administrative activities related to wholesale activities (be able to work within a matrix structure, gaining buy in and support across a number of functions)

Hours of work: 48 hours minimum with travel when required.
