Job Title: Workshop Foreman
Company Profile:
Goods distribution and transportation company, located in Lusaka’s Mumbwa road industrial area.
Summary of Position
An experienced Workshop Foreman responsible for overseeing workshop activities including supervising vehicle/truck mechanics, to be based in Lusaka.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that company vehicles/trucks are fully checked before being dispatched
- Keeping record of all vehicle repairs
- Supervising scheduled fleet services and maintenance
- Supervising vehicle/truck/equipment repairs
- Preparing cost and time estimates for work done
- Performing test drives to check repairs
- Inspecting all vehicles and equipment at regular intervals, ensuring the vehicles are serviced and maintained at all times
- Updating vehicle service records
- Assisting with purchasing required spare parts
- Maintaining a database of spare parts in the repair garage
- All service and inspections should be properly documented and summarized
- Support attendance to break downs as necessary
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience in mechanics
- Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience as Workshop Foreman
- Experience in repairing Volvo and Scania trucks
- Experience in mechanics and vehicle/trucks auto electronics
- Able to work on auto and manual gearboxes
- Experience with Pneumatic systems, engines and suspension
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work outside scheduled working hours if needed
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and solve problems
- Capable of prioritizing and managing heavy workflow
- Minimum of 2 traceable references from previous employers
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned
