Name of Position: Human Resource Personnel
Term of engagement: 12 months fixed term contract

Scope of work

  • Development and implementation of HR systems and processes
  • Formulation of Company policies
  • Update HR policies and educate all team members on any such changes
  • Keep abreast of any changes in Zambian labor laws
  • Develop training and development programs
  • Facilitate performance appraisals for team members
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues accordance with the company employee manual and HR policies
  • Draft and Review employment contracts to ensure legal compliance (Contract management)
  • Manage attendance and leave days for all team members
  • Be actively involved and manage the hiring process
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans
  • Facilitate payroll processing and employee compensation
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full grade twelve certificate
  • Paid up Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
  • At least 3 years proven hands-on experience in Human resource management
  • Must possess diploma or University degree in Human resource management, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. Professional development certification in talent management, including learning and development, coaching, facilitation, and related areas considered an asset
  • Preference for training skills, including participatory training in group settings
  • Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate)
  • Proven experience as HR officer, administrator or other HR position
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc
  • Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office packages
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong ethics and reliability

  • Must be available to start work immediately
  • Good knowledge of digital skills and the ability to apply them in a working environment
  • Demonstrates professional competence; contributes significantly to all staff members
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, mature, professional team player, who is a strong communicator, with good interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a team of more than 50 employees
  • Can work with minimal guidance and supervision
