Position:  Pediatric and Adolescent Health Analyst

Location: Northern, Luapula and Muchinga Province

Duration: Four Months (Subject to extension based on performance)

Program summary: Avencion has created a Pediatric and Adolescent Health Leadership Program dedicated to empowering the young professionals who have interest in developing expertise in the global public health sector.   This CDC, USAID, and PEPFAR-funded Leadership Program will fund four- to eleven-month internships for approximately 100 young doctors over the life of the program. Applicants selected for internships must successfully complete a 5- day, pre-internship training. Upon completion, participants will be placed at our headquarters, provincial or district health office or at a health facility – and will be eligible for a competitive monthly stipend. The monthly stipend is intended to defray costs associated with transportation to and from the workplace and participation in required health leadership training and activities.

Pediatric and Adolescent Health Leaders will be required to work five days per week and must attend Saturday leadership, management, communication, and technology skills training activities two to three times per month.

Future leaders will be placed, based on need, education and background; into Pediatric and Adolescent Health Leadership positions across various segments of the health sector such as facility and community HTS services, strategic information, health management information systems, strategic planning, management consulting, general management, community engagement, improvement in patient-centered care, digital virtual health interventions, strategic information, health management information systems, strategic planning, general management, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate or doctorate degree in medicine/Nursing degree or diploma
  • Experience in pediatrics and adolescent health care will be an added advantage
  • Experience in ART services will be an added advantage
