As the appointed Caterpillar dealer in the region, Barloworld Equipment supplies equipment, parts and service to customers in the mining, construction, handling, agricultural and energy industries.
Barloworld Equipment Zambia Limited is looking for suitably qualified individuals to fill the position below:
APPRENTICE – HEAVY EARTH MOVING EQUIPMENT
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Heavy Earthmoving Equipment Apprenticeship program and Barloworld Equipment business. The purpose of the apprenticeship program is to create career opportunities and guidance to candidates as they up-skill to the qualification of Heavy Earthmoving Equipment Technician level.
Key Outputs include but are not limited to:
- Remove and Install Earthmoving Equipment components
- Disassemble and Assemble Components
- Inspect and maintain Earthmoving Equipment
- Test and Adjust Earthmoving Equipment operating systems
- Diagnose and Repair system faults on Earthmoving Equipment
- Prepare technical report, labour booking and order parts
Qualification, Experience, and Competencies
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with not more than 10 – 15 points including English Language, Mathematics and Science
- Technical/Geometric and Mechanical Drawing will be an added advantage.
- Tertiary qualification (Advanced Certificate) in Heavy Equipment Repair/Agricultural Mechanics/Automotive Mechanics – graduated after 2020.
- Valid Driving License will be added advantage
- Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Excellent writing and communication skills are a requirement – testing will be conducted
