JOB SUMMARY

The ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) Champion will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer – Bayport Zambia and will be responsible for operationalising the ESG strategy (i.e., day-to-day implementation) within the Company.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

The job holder will be responsible for strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the ESG function including but not limited to the following:

  • Operationalising the ESG strategy (i.e., day-to-day implementation) within the company.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the achievement of ESG targets in the context of objectives pursued.
  • Provide timely and complete ESG progress & metric results to the Group and local board using templates shared (ESG presentations should show trends over time and progress against established targets).
  • Coordinate Corporate Social Investment initiatives.
  • Act as the main contact point for ESG matters including ESG due diligence.
  • Promote awareness and assist employees in identifying, mitigating, and managing ESG risks;
  • Coordinate initiatives across the company to maintain consistency in approach and ensure compliance with the ESG policy and related standards.
  • Ability to manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts, responding to inquiries, and engaging with followers
  • Coordinate CSI initiatives

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Full grade 12 certificate
  • Bachelor of Accountancy/Bachelor of Arts/or any other Business discipline

OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in the financial sector
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to deal with people of all levels
  • A team player with good initiative and assertiveness
  • Energetic and Enthusiastic
  • A self-motivator who is keen on upgrading and improving personal knowledge & skills to meet evolving job requirements
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts, responding to inquiries, and engaging with followers
  • Possess some knowledge in designing graphics and infographics, for social media campaigns.
  • ESG experience will be an added advantage
