BIA is able to offer a wide range of equipment and accessories from well-known manufacturers such as Komatsu, Sandvik, Bomag, Cummins and Yale.
BIA Zambia is currently looking for Logistics Officer with vast experience in the mining industry for its operations to be based in Kitwe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow up shipments from the suppliers, clearing agent/forwarder until destination.
- Work closely with the sales team and the workshop by giving information on the position of shipments.
- Communicate instructions for shipments to the carriers and freight forwarders;
- Control export and import documents by working together with BIA warehouse team, freight forwarders, transporters and /or logistics companies;
- Record information for tracking of orders for customers and produce a weekly report.
- Organize supplies and distribution of parts between manufacturers and the sites on the basis of agreements concluded with customers and freight forwarders
- Receiving pre-alerts from supplier and send to the clearing agent/forwarder for clearing of goods.
- Ensure that the Repair and Return parts/components are processed and sent in a timely manner.
- Organise transport to deliver parts/components/goods to site and from site.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in logistics or equivalent by experience
- Customs knowledge familiar with Laws of Zambia CAP 322 – Customs Act
- Valid member of Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics Transport (ZCILT) with Practising Licence as prescribed by Law.
- 3-5 years experience in a similar function
- Good knowledge of Incoterms
- Good knowledge of MS Office
