BCP is a leading African REDD+ Developer and conservation organization which seeks to sustainably finance wildlife and habitat conservation through the forest carbon markets. BCP’s mission is “making conservation of wildlife habitat valuable to people”. We work with Community and Government partners to help improve the conservation management of over 1 million hectares of globally significant wildlife habitats in Zambia, benefiting over 225,000 people.

BCP is seeking to recruit a dynamic individual as General Worker x 7 (GW). The locations will be Kasempa x 2, Kaoma x 2, Livingstone x 1 and Lufwanyama x 2. As GW, your job will be a full range of janitorial assignments using sound judgment. Actions are normally determined by specific instructions from supervisor and any other designate.

STUFF WE’LL TRUST YOU WITH.

  • Cleans, Cooks, prepares refreshments for external guests, as and when required, sweeps, vacuums and mops floors.
  • Gathers and disposes of rubbish and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment.
  • Makes rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals; inspects doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened and doorbells.
  • Locks and unlock buildings. Observes appearance and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outsourced vendor’s services.
  • Dust such items as blinds, Furniture, file cabinets, and windowsills using treated dust mittens, cloths, or hand-cleaning items. scrubs, strips, sanitises, waxes.
  • Polishing furniture, metal work, and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds.
  • Maintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies. Washes, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

ALLIANCE BUILDERS WANTED

  • A minimum standard of a Grade 12 Certificate. Any training certificate will be added advantage.

Skills

  • Strong people skills with good communication capacity in written and spoken English as well as local languages
  • Strong commitment to community development and conservation approaches
  • Considerable knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitor services.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals and insecticides
  • Ability to follow instructions.
