Overview of the Project

CMMB has been awarded a five-years USAID funded project to be implemented on the Copperbelt and North-Western provinces of Zambia. The goal of the project is to mitigate the impact of HIV and improve the health and wellbeing of VCA through the delivery of high-impact, evidence-informed, and age-appropriate interventions customized for each VCA sub-population using a family-centered approach. The project seeks to improve the social and health outcomes of vulnerable households in high HIV burden districts across two provinces of Zambia (Copperbelt and North-Western) in close collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ).   The Activity aims to ensure that children are a) healthy by improving access to health/HIV services; b) safe by improving child protection and prevention of gender-based violence (GBV); c) stable by improving household economic security and linkage to social protection; and d) schooled by improving school retention and progression.

CMMB Zambia seeks to fill the positions stated below to implement this project successfully.

COMMUNITY SERVICES & LINKAGE OFFICERS (Ndola, Chingola, Luanshya, Mufulira, Kitwe, Solwezi)

Position summary: S/he will be responsible for integration of community and clinical service delivery with a focus on accelerating and maintaining results towards “95-95-95”. This includes strengthening linkages and coordination from the communities to social service and health facilities as well as strengthening bi-directional referral systems to improve both health/HIV and social service delivery. The Community Services & Linkage Officer will strengthen implementation of comprehensive, HIV-inclusive case management with a focus on improving pediatric HIV case identification; strengthening HIV prevention focus, linkage to HTS, care, and treatment; retention among both children and their caregivers; and violence prevention and response. S/he will take the lead in overseeing the Applicant’s participation in the PEPFAR/Ministry of Health Pediatric Surge.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work, Public Health or related field;
  • Experience in OVC care, support and community mobilization.
  • At least 3 years work experience in a related field

STRATEGIC INFORMATION ASSOCIATES (Ndola, Chingola, Luanshya, Mufulira, Kitwe, Solwezi)

Position summary: The Strategic Information Associate (SIA) will work in close collaboration with the Strategic Information Manager (SIM) and District Health Information Officer/or Hospital Information Officer and/or Facility in Charge in the management of OVC related data, including compilation of daily, weekly and monthly reports and analysis, data verification and data entry related to OVC Care and Support to perform all necessary functions and obligations as defined and delegated by the supervising officers. S/he will support district activities that aim to strengthen monitoring and evaluation, and performance, which may include overseeing support to community organizations to monitor, document and analyze the performance of their HIV/OVC services and activities and ensure data quality. S/he will liaise with relevant technical advisers and counterparts responsible for district and facility level strategic information and monitoring and evaluation and support coordination with district management information system. S/he will be required to perform the following duties:

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelors’ Degree in demography, public health, epidemiology, monitoring    & evaluation, biostatistics, statistics, analytics or a related field is required
  • At least 3 years work experience in a related field

PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS OFFICER (Ndola)

Position summary:   The Procurement & Logistics Officer will ensure efficient and timely procurement of goods and services and consultancies. He/She will play a key role in monitoring and ensuring that all contractors, consultants and suppliers deliver according to the requirements and in a cost-effective manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelors’ Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Logistics Management or any relevant Business Degree
  • Management or any relevant Business Degree
  • Post graduate qualifications in Supplies Management
  • Member of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
  • At least 5 years of experience in the supplies and logistics management.
  • Knowledge of USAID or PEPFAR guidelines is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of best procurement practices
  • Competence in procurement planning
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • High level of integrity

PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Ndola)

Position summary:   As an integral support member of the project team, the Administrative Assistant will facilitate smooth day-to-day operations of the project. The Project Administrative Assistant will ensure administrative and operational efficiency for project success.  In addition, S/he will serve as the project’s receptionist.

Qualifications and Experience

  • An Advanced Diploma in Business administration, a Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Three (3) years relevant experience in business/nonprofit environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in providing support to USAID programs is an added advantage.
  • Strong computer skills in all MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with business machines, including scanner, printer, photocopier and others.
  • Ability to anticipate project needs and a willingness to assume tasks which may not be reflected in this position’s description.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communications skills, including strong writing/editing facility.
  • Proficiency in English required.

FINANCE & GRANTS OFFICER (Ndola)

Position summary:   The Finance and Grants Officer will be responsible for overall financial and contractual management of sub grantees and also processing of payments and other financial transactions for the project. He/She will be responsible for managing and providing assistance for grantees related to a broad range of financial and administrative needs .  He/she will also provide for financial management capacity building within the project.  The position requires close collaboration with the Field offices to ensure application of CMMB and Donor regulations and policies.  He/She will be a secondary resource on contract rules and regulations and financial management of Sub grantees.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting & Finance, ACCA II, ZICA Licentiate or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years professional experience in financial management, contract and/or accounting related experience that includes budget preparation, cost analysis and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of USAID and PEPFAR rules and procedures is an added advantage.
  • Experience with financial and managerial accounting, budgeting, payroll and procurement required
  • Strong financial, audit and computers skills: proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and database skills; strong skills in Excel. Proficiency in accounting software
  • Must have strong organizational skills, including task and time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision.

DRIVER (Ndola, Chingola, Luanshya, Mufulira, Kitwe, Solwezi)

S/he will be responsible for driving and maintaining project vehicles for official project business as well as maintaining the logbooks, schedules for Motor vehicle licensing, road tax and servicing. The position will require supporting all transportation requirements of the project within the assigned province

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of Grade Twelve (12) certificate
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license or permit for operating vehicles in Zambia
  • Basic skills in motor vehicle maintenance/mechanics is an added advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a professional Driver. Experience with a USAID funded project is an added advantage.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to work independently

OFFICE ASSISTANT (Ndola)

Position summary: The office Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the office is always kept clean, preparation of meeting places, prepare stock lists for office supplies and cleaning agents. S/he will be responsible for photocopying documents as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade Twelve(G12) certificate
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain maximum hygiene standards
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a related field
