CHILD PROTECTION HUB COORDINATOR

The Catholic Medical Mission Board Zambia (CMMB-Z) is a faith-based local organisation whose mission is to provide long-term, co-operative medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and healthcare issues. CMMB Zambia seeks a Child Protection Hub Coordinator/Consultant to manage hub activities including supervision of community volunteers, implementing approved strategies, models, and approaches like Men Taking Action (MTA™), Coaching Boys into Men CBIM, and Stepping Stones.

Job Title: Child Protection Hub Coordinator

Location: Kabwe

Duration: 176 Days

Contract Type: Consultancy

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning, implementation and Reporting

Work closely with Kusamala team, Makululu Home Based care staff, Ministry of Community Development and Social Services and other key stakeholders to plan hub activities.
Support trainings – life skills for children, child ambassadors and hub psychosocial counsellors
Coordinate bi-weekly child and parent conversations.
Coordinate children fairs and edutainment activities.
Support the production and airing of a TV documentary.
Submit monthly, quarterly and end of project reports including success stories, lessons learnt and best practices.

Coordination and supervision/Monitoring

Monitoring project activities to ensure they are implemented within timelines.
Mentor and supervise community volunteers and child ambassadors.
Facilitate referrals for high impact services and ensure completed referrals of more than 90%
Participate in important meetings at Makululu HBC and at district level in line with hub operations.
In liaison with the Kusamala M&E Officer conduct quarterly Data Quality Assurance (DQA) and capturing data at the hub.
Attend to any other assignments as delegated by your supervisor.

Qualifications

Diploma in social work, psychology, or other related studies.
Child Protection, Mental Health and or Psychosocial Support training
1-2 years of previous relevant experience in working with children
Good command of English written and spoken
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate support groups.
Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable groups.
Able to engage various government departments and other key stakeholders.
Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually.
Well organised with strong time-management and report writing skills.

Able to ride a motor bike (Motor bike licence is required)
