1. Data Coordinator – Technical Support Ref: DC/DT/05/02/18.
Reporting to the Data Manager, the Data Technical Support Officer will be part of the technical team within the data unit at CIDRZ HQ. He/she will be responsible for providing IT support to health facilities, designing and developing data storage applications for various research studies and secure storage of data for reporting.
Ensure weekly reports are submitted on time as required; develop standard operating procedures for technical and general data usage operations; run data extractions for programmatic and research purposes; overall data and database versioning and management; take part in departmental planning activities; mentor and lead Data Coordinators, District Data Coordinators and Data Associates in providing IT technical support to health facilities and efficient use of data collection tools; maintain up-to-date inventory of all equipment and software including backups of all software and licenses; maintain & monitor a log of backups and ensure that there is appropriate business continuity & information security, including provision of site back-up media at agreed schedules; maintain and monitor the helpdesk system; design and development of data collection tools; deploy appropriate software to health facilities as per organizational guidelines and policies; deploy, maintain and provide support of IT equipment and local area networks in collaboration with CIDRZ’s ICT department; support other teams in ensuring that weekly and monthly reports are submitted on time.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of an advanced diploma in Computing/ICT, Mathematics, Engineering or related subject, Experience in providing IT support will an added advantage, Experience working in a health-related organisation will be an added advantage. Relevant Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Software Development will be an added advantage, Database querying and management of any advanced RDBMS, e.g. MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres etc, Excellent LAN deployment skills, Excellent IT support skills, Medium to advanced software programming skills in an object oriented or function programming language, Strong analytical and communication skills, Willing to work long hours and over pubic holidays and weekends, Ability to work in a very high-pressure environment, Very good interpersonal skills, Excellent team player.
2. Data Coordinator – Strategic Information Ref: DC/DT/05/02/18 (X2)
Reporting to the Data Manager The strategic information specialist will be part of the reporting team within the data team at CIDRZ HQ. He/she will be responsible for development of data collection tools, aggregating and management of data for various programmatic performance monitoring and research studies.
Design and development of data collection tools for ACHIEVE and research projects; design and creation of routine performance monitoring tools and reports; ensure that weekly and monthly reports are submitted on time; extraction of routine and ad hoc datasets for programmatic and research studies; development of SOPs for handling programmatic and research data; management of overall lifecycle of programmatic and research studies data; participate in data collection and QA/QI activities; take part in departmental planning activities; mentor Data Coordinators and Data Associates in efficient ways to manipulate and use data; mentor Data Coordinators and Data Associates on the definition of all performance monitoring indicators; participate in the presentation of data to various internal and external stakeholders; supervise Data Coordinators and Data Associates in reporting activities; train staff on data collection and entry procedures and common errors/problems within the clinic and at other sites as requested.
Qualifications and Experience:
Higher/Advanced Diploma in Computing/ICT, Mathematics, Engineering or related subject; Experience in an M&E team working on PEPFAR MER indicators will be an added advantage; Database querying and management Skills in any RDBMS, e.g. SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres etc; Medium to advanced skills in any data analysis tool e.g. R, STATA, Excel etc; Medium to advanced software programming skills in an object oriented or functional programming language; Strong analytical and communication skills; Ability to work in a very high-pressure environment;Very good interpersonal skills and Good team player.
