The USAID Zambia Integrated Health (USAID ZIH) project aims to improve health outcomes of Zambians through equitable access to high-quality, client-centered HIV, TB/HIV, MNCH, and family planning/reproductive health services, products, and information.

Job summary

The Integration Advisor is responsible of providing technical and catalytic support to the USAID ZIH project to ensure that health seeking behaviors and services are premised on an integrated platform. The incumbent will ensure provision of FP/RH/MNCH, NCD and HIV/TB services using a one stop approach due to the inter linkages of these services.

Main duties

  • The development of integrated FP/RH/MNCH, NCD and HIV/TB services delivery protocols, guidelines and standards including capacity building of health workers and community based volunteers in the delivery of integrated services and with functional operationalized monitoring and evaluation platforms
  • The implementation of community based differentiated and targeted interventions for social behavior change communication and demand creation
  • Analyzes and interprets the political, social and economic environment relevant to FP/RH/MNCH, NCD and HIV/TB services and identifies opportunities for ZIH interventions
  • In collaboration with PHOs and other stakeholders ensures quality of programme / project design incorporates lessons learned, newly developed policies and best practices and establishing appropriate execution and monitoring mechanisms and systems.
  • Helps create and document knowledge about current and emerging FP/RH/MNCH and HIV Prevention issues, by analyzing programme, projects, strategies, approaches and ongoing experience for lessons learned, best practices, and shares with management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies.
  • Support the implementation of effective strategies that foster linkages, integration and mainstreaming of HIV within FP/RH/MNCH and NCD broader and vice versa, primary health care and other relevant health programmes and services.
  • Facilitate ZIH engagement in coordination mechanisms related to HIV Prevention and linkages in order to promote effective strategy and multi-sectoral approach to scaling up the integration of FP/RH/MNCH and NCD.
  • Provide technical support to PHO/DHO counterparts on FP/RH/MNCH and HIV linkages and maintain regular information sharing with relevant stakeholders to keep them abreast of the current developments on the FP/RH/MNCH and NCD trends, experiences, challenges and priorities related to targeted groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Studies or Medicine or equivalent qualifications (MSc is an added advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HIV/ Health integration services
  • Hands on clinical experience in HIV service delivery and technical coordination
  • Experience with PEPFAR funded project.
  • Excellent training skills in working with adult learners, particularly at health facility and community level.
  • Able and willingly to work flexible hours as needed without constant or close supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in project implementation, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Good computer skills, including competence in MS Office and internet/e-mail.
