Overview
ChildFund International is a global child-focused development and protection agency and a founding member of the ChildFund Alliance.
Since 1938, we have worked to help children break the generational cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential. We align what we learn from children with best practices in the international development field to develop and deliver programs that are supported by the generosity of sponsors and donors.
In Zambia, ChildFund works through 6 Local Partners spread across 9 districts counties reaching over 800,000 people. ChildFund has been in Zambia since 1983 and implements programs on Child Protection, Household Economic Strengthening, Early Childhood Development, Education, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Food Security, Emergency Response, Health and Nutrition, Climate Change and Resilience Building.
1. Background
ChildFund Zambia is a child-focused international development organization working to improve the lives of vulnerable children and youth. As part of our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives in the Chiawa area, we seek to engage a qualified and reputable contractor to construct an ablution block(1×14) with functionality for children with disabilities, specifically focusing on Phases Four to Eight of the project.
2. Scope of Work
The scope includes supply and installation of all carpentry, joinery, painting, decoration, and provision of necessary tools and transport.
3. Deliverables
- Full procurement, delivery, and installation of all listed items.
- Completion of all carpentry and joinery works to standard.
- Painting and decoration work according to health and safety regulations.
- Provision of specified tools and handling of all transportation logistics.
- Final site clean-up and handover report.
4. Eligibility Criteria
- Valid Zambian business registration.
- Proven experience in similar construction projects (preferably WASH).
- VAT registration and valid tax clearance certificate.
- At least 3 traceable references from past clients.
5. Proposal Requirements
Bidders must submit:
- Company profile
- Technical proposal (methodology, timeline, staffing)
- Financial proposal (inclusive of all costs, taxes, and transport)
- Supporting documentation (registration, references, etc.)
6. Submission Instructions
All proposals must be submitted via [email protected] no later than 23rd April 2025, 17:00PM. Late submissions will not be accepted.
7. Evaluation Criteria
- Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Technical capacity and experience (40%)
- Cost effectiveness (30%)
- Delivery timeliness (20%)
- Compliance with submission requirements (10%)
ChildFund Zambia reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals at its sole discretion and is not obligated to award the contract.
