Position Overview:

The Commis Chef will work under the supervision of senior chefs to assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with Ciela Resort & Spa’s fine dining standards. This role is ideal for a passionate, eager-to-learn individual who wants to grow within a professional and high-end kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items across various kitchen sections
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Follow instructions from senior chefs and carry out duties with accuracy and efficiency
  • Support in the proper storage and labelling of food items
  • Ensure that all mise-en-place is prepared ahead of service times
  • Report any kitchen equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and food safety standards
  • Learn and apply culinary techniques as directed by the Sous Chef or Head Chef
  • Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen deliveries

Qualifications:

  • Basic culinary training or a certificate in food preparation is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen is a plus
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fine dining environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced settin
  • Good time management and attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Professional appearance and a positive attitude
