Position Overview:
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for creating high-quality, innovative pastries and desserts that complement the fine dining experience at Ciela Resort & Spa. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and experienced in producing a wide range of baked goods, desserts, and plated sweets in a luxury kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare an assortment of desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods to the highest standard
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop seasonal and custom dessert menus
  • Oversee pastry preparation and plating during service hours
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and hygiene of the pastry section
  • Train and guide junior pastry staff and commis chefs
  • Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation, and order pastry ingredients as required
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Support resort-wide events, functions, and banquets with custom pastry creations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment
  • Formal training in pastry arts or culinary school certification
  • Excellent skills in baking, chocolate work, sugar craft, and plated dessert design
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for high-quality presentation
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to excellence
