Position Overview:
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for creating high-quality, innovative pastries and desserts that complement the fine dining experience at Ciela Resort & Spa. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and experienced in producing a wide range of baked goods, desserts, and plated sweets in a luxury kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare an assortment of desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods to the highest standard
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop seasonal and custom dessert menus
- Oversee pastry preparation and plating during service hours
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and hygiene of the pastry section
- Train and guide junior pastry staff and commis chefs
- Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation, and order pastry ingredients as required
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Support resort-wide events, functions, and banquets with custom pastry creations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment
- Formal training in pastry arts or culinary school certification
- Excellent skills in baking, chocolate work, sugar craft, and plated dessert design
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for high-quality presentation
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
