Medical Receptionist Responsibilities:

We are looking for a dedicated, competent and pleasant Medical Receptionist to be the primary interface with the public at a new high-standard outpatient healthcare facility in the Ibex Hill area of Lusaka. The facility’s departments include nursing, laboratory, imaging, pharmaceutical, and administration. The Medical Receptionist should be familiar with a clinical environment and should be an excellent communicator.

This is a full-time appointment offered on a renewable two-year contract.

Duties and Responsibilities

Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone.
Quickly answer or properly refer questions and issues
Complete accurate documentation of patient visits.
Professionally assist doctors, staff, visitors, and patients.
Schedule appointments between doctors and patients.
Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff, and patient information.
Verify financial records and collecting patient charges
Enter patient information into digital and physical databases for ease of reference
Maintain office inventory and equipment by monitoring supply needs and expediting supply orders
Liaise between medical departments with discretion and professionalism
Ensure that stock levels are adequate, and orders are made timeously.

Requirements and skills:

Diploma in Administration (Bachelor’s degree is an advantage)
At least 2 years’ experience as a clinical receptionist in a private healthcare facility
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of general computer skills with competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point (Experience with a Health Management Information System is an advantage)
Experience in hospital administration and familiarity with hospital administration software will be an advantage

Remuneration:

The salary is negotiable and will depend on the qualifications, experience and skills of the candidate.
