Job Summary
The Project Lead will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of the project implementation at the national level, ensuring alignment with Ministry of Health policies and priorities. They will act as the primary liaison between the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and Coalition Health Zambia (CHZ). The Project Coordinator will play a key role in managing day-to-day activities, ensuring effective project execution, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring program success.
Key Responsibilities:
● Program Management
○ Coordinate the implementation of the program across all target districts, ensuring alignment with national health strategies
○ Act as the focal point for communication between the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and district-level coordinators.
○ Support the review, harmonization and adaptation of available materials, including training curricula, resource materials, and tools for implementation of the mentor mother or mentor mother like model.
○ Support the SBC lead to facilitate collaborations with key stakeholders to review, adapt and integrate Social and Behavior Change (SBC) and HIV prevention strategies focusing on adolescent girls and young women, including adolescent and young mothers into national frameworks ensuring they are contextually relevant and effective.
○ Ensure the timely submission of reports, project updates, and other deliverables to stakeholders.
○ Provide technical support and guidance to district coordinators and other project team members.
○ Monitor and evaluate the progress of the program, making adjustments as necessary to meet objectives and deliverables.
● Stakeholder Coordination
○ Develop and maintain relationships with national stakeholders, including technical working groups and key decision-makers
○ Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure program alignment and timely information exchange.
○ Support the coordination, recruitment and training of mentor mothers including peer mentor mother and community health workers to support AGYWs and AYMs. S
○ Support the identification and engagement of champions among AGYW and AYM to strengthen the peer-to-peer mentorship approach.
● Monitoring and Evaluation
○ Support the design and implementation of M&E frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of the program, including tracking key performance indicators and outcomes.
○ Collect, analyze, and report data on the uptake of HIV prevention services, including PrEP, condom distribution, and economic empowerment initiatives.
○ Coordinate periodic assessments to gather feedback from AGYW, AYM, healthcare providers, and mentor mothers, ensuring continuous improvement.
● Reporting and Documentation
○ Ensure timely reporting of program activities, results, and challenges to the Program Manager and other key stakeholders.
○ Prepare regular progress reports, case studies, and success stories to demonstrate program impact.
○ Maintain accurate documentation related to program activities, including budgets, reports, and training materials.
● Capacity Building and Training
○ Provide technical support and capacity building to mentor mothers, lay health workers, and peer mentors, ensuring adherence to the adapted curriculum.
○ Support facilitation of training workshops and sessions on HIV prevention methods, behavior change communication, and economic strengthening for the target groups.
● Community Outreach and Demand Creation
○ Support the implementation of demand-creation strategies to increase awareness and utilization of HIV prevention methods, particularly PrEP and condom use.
○ Coordinate the establishment of safe spaces and support groups for AGYW and AYM to foster a sense of community and promote health ownership.
● Budget and Resource Management:
○ Assist in the management of the project budget, ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately and efficiently to achieve program goals.
○ Ensure that resources, including training materials, HIV prevention commodities, and logistics, are well-managed and utilized effectively.
Qualifications and skills
● Master’s degree in Public Health, Project Management, or a related field.
● At least 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in public health programs.
● Strong understanding of HIV prevention and Social and Behavior Change strategies.
● Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
● Experience working with government health systems and donor-funded programs.
● Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, and M&E.

Position: Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Coordinator

Job Summary
The SBC Specialist will lead the design, adaptation, implementation, and evaluation of Social and Behavior Change (SBC) strategies to promote the uptake of HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services. The specialist will work closely with adolescents, young mothers, their partners, and community stakeholders across seven districts in Zambia. The role involves applying a culturally sensitive, equity-focused, and inclusive approach to foster health-seeking behaviors and build sustainable community engagement. The SBC Coordinator will report to the project lead.
Key Responsibilities
SBC Strategy Development and Material Adaptation
● Review existing SBC materials to assess relevance, quality, and accessibility.
● Adapt the UNICEF Regional SBC Toolkit to meet the needs of adolescents and young mothers (AYMs) in Zambia, ensuring cultural and contextual appropriateness.
● Develop and implement evidence-based demand creation materials, including print, audiovisual, and digital formats, tailored to diverse audiences and accessible to persons with disabilities.
Community Engagement and Capacity Building
● Collaborate with government health departments, community leaders, and youth groups to ensure stakeholder buy-in and effective program implementation.
● Train healthcare workers, peer mentors, and community champions on delivering stigma-free, youth-friendly services.
● Facilitate participatory sessions with AYMs to co-design and validate SBC materials.
Multi-Channel Communication and Dissemination
● Map and utilize preferred community communication platforms, including youth centers, healthcare waiting areas, and social media.
● Engage local influencers, peer educators, and community champions to promote SBC materials and messaging.
● Coordinate pre-testing and pilot phases to gather real-time feedback and ensure alignment with community needs.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Feedback
● Establish and oversee an SBC monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the reach, uptake, and effectiveness of materials.
● Conduct monthly field visits and feedback sessions with AYMs and stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement.
● Prepare detailed reports documenting progress, lessons learned, and success stories.
Collaboration and Sustainability
● Partner with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health (MOH), National AIDS Council, and local organizations, to integrate SBC strategies into national frameworks.
● Promote program sustainability by embedding SBC practices within community structures and health systems.
● Ensure all interventions align with Zambia’s national health agenda and international goals for HIV prevention and SRHR.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Behavioral Sciences, Mass Communication for Development, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and implementing SBC or demand creation strategies in public health programs
● Proven experience working on HIV prevention, SRHR, or maternal and child health programs.
● Familiarity with UNICEF’s SBC frameworks and tools is an advantage.
● Strong understanding of SBC theories, tools, and methodologies.
● Excellent training and facilitation skills with diverse stakeholders, including youth and community leaders.

Job Summary
The M&E Lead will spearhead the development and implementation of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track the performance and impact of health programs focused on HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). As a key liaison between Coalition Health Zambia (CHZ) and the Ministry of Health, the M&E Lead will ensure that program outcomes align with national health priorities, focusing on adolescents and young mothers (AYMs) and their sexual partners. The position emphasizes data-driven decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement to enhance program outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
M&E Framework Development and Implementation
○ Design, refine, and oversee the implementation of M&E frameworks for HIV prevention and SRHR interventions targeting AYMs.
○ Develop indicators, tools, and methodologies for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
○ Conduct baseline assessments, identify gaps, and inform program design using evidence-based approaches.
Data Management and Analysis
○ Lead data quality assurance processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all program-related data.

Overview
Job Summary
The District Coordinator will oversee the implementation of project activities on the UNICEF funded project aimed at utilizing a ‘mentor mother’ model to prevent new HIV infections among pregnant and parenting adolescents and young mothers and their sexual partners in their respective districts, ensuring program delivery meets objectives and aligns with local health systems and community needs. They will work with the Ministry of Health at District level and other key stakeholders to ensure that the project goals are met in a timely, cost effective and with the highest quality. They will report directly to the Project Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
● Coordinate the delivery of program activities at the district level, including HIV prevention and SBC interventions.
● Manage the mentor mother-like model program at district, facility and community levels ensuring quality service delivery.
● Serve as the project primary contact between the community, district health offices, and the national project team.
● Facilitate recruitment, training, and mentorship support of mentor mothers and community health workers.
● Collaborate with other district level stakeholders to organize and participate in stakeholder meetings, community engagement events, and capacity-building workshops.
● Participate in the review, pretesting, and implementation of social behavioral change interventions for adolescents and young people, including for AYM and their sexual partners, to increase awareness of their risk and vulnerability to STI/HIVs and increase HIV prevention.
● Monitor the distribution and usage of SBC materials, ensuring accessibility and cultural relevance.
● Conduct regular site visits to assess program progress and provide technical support to field teams.
● Prepare and submit district-level reports and data to the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist.
● Document best practices, lessons learnt and success stories including project activity reports.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
● At least 5 years of experience coordinating community-based health projects.
