CONSERVATION FARMING UNIT

The Conservation farming Unit (CFU) is a local organisation whose mission is to provide small and medium scale farmers with the environment, knowledge and practical experience to help them successfully adopt conservation farming and conservation agriculture practices. The CFU is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the anticipated USAID Zambia Agriculture Diversification Support (ZADS) project.

Job Title: Strategic Information Manager (SIM)

The Strategic Information Manager (SIM) will lead the information management and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities for an agriculture project. The SIM will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the project’s information systems, ensuring that data is collected, analysed, and used to inform decision-making and improve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The SIM will provide technical leadership to develop the project framework, plans and indicators to capture performance results and provide effective, accurate and timely monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all project activities.
  • Design and implement an integrated information management system that captures, analyses, and reports on project data.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by developing and implementing data management protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop M&E plans, frameworks, and tools.
  • Provide technical assistance to project teams on data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and recommend improvements to the information management system.
  • Ensure compliance with USAID reporting requirements and other donor regulations.
  • Develop and disseminate regular project reports, including progress reports, quarterly reports, and annual reports.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners and stakeholders on data management and analysis

Required qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in agriculture, statistics, demography, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, establishing, and managing monitoring and evaluation systems for performance-based programs, preferably funded by USAID.
  • Experience with agricultural development projects or programs.
  • Familiarity with USAID reporting requirements and donor regulations
