Contracts Manager – Zambia

Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES) the leading supplier of premium brand products including Massey Ferguson tractors and generators, Alpler and Piccan farm implements, Netafim and Zimmatic Irrigation Equipment and construction machinery has a vacancy for an Agricultural Engineer based at its Office in Mazabuka, Zambia

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Drivers’ License
  • MSC Agricultural Engineering degree
  • 5 years work experience with a minimum of 3 years agricultural logistics experience

Previous Experience

  • Experience in precision agricultural practices using Trimble equipment
  • Experience with heavy Farm Machinery
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Irrigation experience would be preferred
  • Hydrological modelling
  • Data management including productivity and financial analysis
  • Experience in GIS works
  • Logistics fleet management and optimisation
  • Power Bl reporting

Personal Qualities

  • Good planning and activity scheduling skills, technical skills and a hands-on approach
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different cultural backgrounds
  • Must be self-motivated and results driven
  • Capability to work under strict deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Team player
  • Client liaison skills

Profile

  • Engage with local commercial farmers to promote FES’ agricultural contracting services
  • Utilize computer software to create plans and detailed blueprints
  • Troubleshoot problems that may come up during the agricultural season
  • Scheduling of daily work flows
  • Monitor daily productivity of contracted equipment
  • Set daily work programmes
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
