Investrust Bank Plc is looking for a suitably qualified, vibrant and self motivated individual to fill the position below that has fallen vacant under the Credit Department.

Position title: Credit Evaluation Manager – Corporates
Location: Lusaka, Head Office
Reporting to: Head Credit

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate whether credit proposals and applications meet sound business criteria, and whether counter-party credit risk falls within acceptable parameters which crea te profit / value as well as the associated risks.
  2. Proactively drive the review process of existing facilities, ensure a  consistent thorough and timely evaluation of all existing facilities.
  3. Oversee the loading of counter-party information (i.e. review dates, new risk grades, interest rates, standing orders etc.) and limits relating to the approved Credit Application. Ensuring that the above information is at all times correct and current. Where discrepancies/ irregularities are evident, corrective action is to be taken without delay.
  4. Actively participate in the Early Warning List Committee meetings
  5. Sign-off for permanent release of the security documents.
  6. Ensure timely and quality credit assessments and decisions are made.
  7. Assess pay/ no-pay motivations (Daily Referral reports) and take credit  decisions.
  8. Manage adherence to the internal service level agreements.
  9. Visit clients with the Relationship Manager, where appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Clear verbal and writing ability for explaining and interpreting financial data and business information.
  2. Ability to collate and compile appropriate sets of financial and business information to quantify and evaluate the risks and benefits of a business proposal.
  3. Ability to establish the risk profile of a counter-party and incorporate  contextual industry risks in a credit application.
  4. Ability to analyse a credit applications’ risk and benefit parameters, and present a sound business justification for the requested facility.
  5. Ability to recommend appropriate risk parameters in respect of specific facility structures within which clients will need to operate to contain risk at acceptable levels.
  6. Knowledge of financial markets and the economic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. University Degree in Commerce, Accountancy or a related field/
    Professional Accounting Qualification
  2. At least 3 years banking experience within Corporate and/or Business
    Banking Credit.
  3. Exposure to the Banks lending policies and procedures.
  4. Exposure to the banking procedures/ branch experience.
