The Trainee Manager will be responsible for completing all assigned tasks, which may include, performing duties in different departments, gaining knowledge of operations, supervisory and technical skills that are in alignment with the company’s mission, its retailing philosophies, and its operational strategies.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reporting To: Store Manager
Supervision Of: Floor staff, Packers, Merchandisers
Interacts With: Customers, Management, Team

JOB DESCRIPTION
Analyse various reports from the system and notify the store manager any unusual items
Assist Store manager/Assistant store manager to plan staff rosters
Updating staff leave requests
Maintain a register for external merchandisers and ensure their punctuality. With the help of security officers update in and out time
Training merchandising supervisors and all shelf packers
Ensure hygiene levels are maintained throughout the stores. Update all logs as per company policyMaintain and update all the registers viz, generator log, damage & expiry register, temperature logbook, etc
Ensure that promo SKUs and its shelf talkers are displayed prominently in order to maximize promo sales
Pass daily department transfers and get them authorized by the SM/ASM
Ensure that stock outages and chances for “stock out” are communicated to the Store manager
Follow up of purchase orders with suppliers and report the delivery schedules to SM & receiving manager. Any challenges in delivery by suppliers need to be communicated to SM immediately
Perform floor walks at regular intervals and ensure that stock is properly packed on shelves, price posters are displayed, shelf talkers are affixed on each & every item, etc

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Experience: 4 years plus
Education Level: Diploma Level
Qualifications: Diploma in Business Administration or related discipline
Software: Microsoft Office, Retail Software, POS Machines
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: Training, Merchandising and floor management
Skills To: Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability To: Manage and supervise a team
Other Requirements: Experience in an organized retail chain as a merchandiser or floor supervisor is essential
