Daily Revelation Newspaper is seeking the services of dedicated people to fill up the following positions:

1.    JOURNALISTS (6 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities

• Uncover critical news stories
• Engage in investigative stories
• Gather, corroborate and interpret bulky information
• Conduct in-depth interviews for news purposes
• Conduct research and use findings to construct in-depth articles
• Obtain first-hand information from news sources
• Analyse data and provide context to information

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience as a journalist
• Editing and proofreading skills
• Ability to follow strict deadlines and fact-checking information
• Knowledge about Zambia’s media landscape
• Computer proficiency
• Critical thinking and analytical
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• High integrity and morality

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Journalism

2.    ACCOUNTS/ADMINISTRATION (1 POSITION)

Responsibilities

•  Review and reconcile financial statement
• Process payments and bank deposits
•  Manage payroll
• Manage suppliers/advertisers
• Contact clients and send reminders for timely payments
• Manage tax returns and other statutory payments
• Update accounting database

Requirements

• Experience as an Accounts/admin or similar role
• Knowledge of finance procedures and debt collection regulations
• Hands-on experience with accounting software
• Data entry skills in financial formulars and latest software
• Good organizational and management skills
• Self-starter with minimum supervision

Qualification

BA or Masters in finance, accounting or equivalent

3.   MARKETING EXECUTIVES (2 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities:

• Marketing the Company and its products
• Engage companies/institutions/people to advertise in the newspaper
• Engage companies/institutions/people to subscribe with the Newspaper
• Ensuring adherence to clients’ specifications
• Coordinating efforts to ensure quality deliverables
•  Adhering to time and financial restrictions
• Tracking changes in consumer engagement

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a marketing executive.
• Excellent in research and writing skills, especially those applicable to marketing.
• Strong leadership, delegation, and capacity development skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to engage and communicate with people of different backgrounds
  Self-starter
• Respect for people regardless of their status in society
• High level of integrity

Qualification

Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Advertising or equivalent

4.    SALES EXECUTIVE (2 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate newspaper distribution with newspaper salespersons
• Manage daily sales reconciliations from newspaper salespersons
• Liaise with marketing executives on new selling points
• Conduct weekly/monthly sales reconciliations from various clients and agents

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Customer centric
• Ability to identify new selling spots
• High level of financial accountability
• High level of integrity

Qualification

Diploma or Degree in Sale Management

5.    PRINTER (1 POSITION)

Responsibilities

• Managing the entire print production process
• Ensure proper maintenance, safety, and functioning of the printing press

Requirements

•  Experience as a Press Operator or similar role
• Exceptional Expertise in operating heavy machinery
• Ability to interpret and understand complex documents
• Attention to detail

Qualification

Diploma or Degree in Printing Technology

6.    PHOTOGRAPHER (1 POSITION)

Duties

•  Taking newsworthy photographs
• Editing and processing photos
• Preparing proofs for publication
• Liaising with other staff regarding assignments
• Meeting editorial deadlines
• Undertaking relevant background research for features and articles

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Photography
• Ability to work overtime
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

7.    DRIVERS (2 POSITIONS)

Duties

• Handle logistics work

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Defensive driving
• Time management to keep track of deliveries and stay on schedule
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

8.    MOTORBIKE RIDERS (3 POSITIONS)

Duties

• Handle logistics work

Requirements

•  A valid driver’s license
• Time management to keep track of deliveries and stay on schedule
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
