Job Purpose

The Sales Manager will be responsible for building and leading a team of sales people to drive company revenue. The incumbent will further lead the sales team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, setting sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans, analysing data, assigning sales territories and building their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategic sales plan that covers sales, revenue, expense controls and expand the company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence in the national and regional markets.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  • Direct and oversee the organisation’s sales policies, procedures, initiatives and objectives.
  • Recommend product and service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Handles and resolves customer complaints, staff problems and any other issues that may impact the efficient running of the sales operation.
  • Closely work with Finance to set discount rates and determine price schedules for the portifolio.
  • Advising dealers and distributors on Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
  • Work closely with Marketing to identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Overseeing local and regional marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
  • Ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance reviews, reward and recognition systems.
  • Represent the organisation at various community and/or business meetings, committees, task forces, events, conferences etc. to promote existing and new programs and/or policies.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate (5 O’ Level credits, including compulsorily English Language and Mathematics)
  • Degree in Marketing/Sales from an accredited higher learning institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in a sales environment;
  • Three (3) years hands-on experience in a supervisory
  • Experience in distributor management will be an added advantage
