Key Responsibilities

  • This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain all mechanical equipment; Repair activities on a varied fleet of Komatsu (D65/155/275), VOLVO (EC210/290/700/ A40 D&F), CAT machines, Escavators and pumps
  • Field Services and Workshop environment.
  • Inspect equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as multi-meters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair equipment, and fixtures.
  • Other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Grade Ten (Grade 12) Plus a Craft / Trade Certificate from recognised institution
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic on Construction / Heavy Mining Equipment equipment
  • Komatsu / CAT expert ideal
