In its quest to improve service delivery, Southern Water and Sewerage Company Limited (SWSC), provider of portable water and sanitation services in the Southern Province of Zambia, seeks to fill the following vacant positions. The suitable candidates should be good team players, dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, effective Communicator, Sound knowledge of the industry, good business and management principles and suitably qualified and experienced Zambians.
DIRECTOR OPERATIONS (x1) Head Office
Job Purpose
To plan, develop and implement policies, strategies and best practices to enhance and maintain the performance of the SWSC commercial water utility in the production and supply of water, collection and treatment of sewage to meet demand and quality standards further to sale the services while taking care of the environment to the benefit of both the Company and the consumers.
Responsibilities:
- Produce Technical Operational plans and ensure that they are integrated into the overall business planning process of the company.
- Review operational manuals and criteria for all the water and sewerage plant, network and equipment.
- Ensure works and capital expansion programs are executed timely and to acceptable standard.
- Ensure that the resources of the company are rationally deployed among the company’s Regions to ensure the best possible overall customer service.
- Oversee all donor funded projects.
- Control Divisional expenditure in line with approved budget
- Supervise Commercial Services.
- Supervise Information and Communications Services.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full Grade 12 Certificate suitable for University entrance
- Bachelors Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Water engineering
- Master Degree in Civil/Mechanical / Water Engineering
- Masters in Business Administration
- Full Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
- Valid Engineering Practicing License
- Minimum of 10 years relevant industrial experience of which 3 years should be at senior management level
- Valid Driving License
