JOB SUMMARY

The digital literacy facilitator reports directly to the digital literacy district coordinator and works closely with the DREAMS centre staff and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). Under the direction of the coordinator this position is responsible for data entry, report writing and facilitation of digital literacy skills. This individual embraces a learning mindset of curiosity and experimentation and has exceptional digital literacy and technology skills and is eager to grow and expand their skill set. She is a self-directed learner and is committed to excellent service delivery with a strong focus on instruction and facilitating digital literacy training. This person is a passionate advocate for innovation in digital skills and engaging the AGYW in content creation.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Organize and facilitate digital literacy training by providing support to program participants through engagement and evaluate their aptitude pre- and post-training and act as a role model.
  • Work with program participants to ensure that they submit the required documentation to track their progress during their respective training.
  • Coordinate and facilitate daily training sessions for program participants.
  • Follows internal procedures to ensure high standards of performance and compliance with training guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of digital skills and ability to apply them in training setting.
  • Can work with minimal guidance and supervision.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Creates excellent digital training experiences while serving as a key point of contact with parties seeking information related to digital literacy.
  • Ensure AGYW are mobilized, selected and recruited from different communities and schools.
  • Ensure effective and efficient data entry of all AGYW in the DHIS2.
  • Documentation and submission of bi-weekly and monthly narrative reports on the performance of program participants and challenges and successes of the program.
  • Generation and/or building of success stories.
  • Documentation and submission of success stories with specific themes.
  • Submission of stationary checklists, laptop drop off forms and graduation attendance sheets bi-weekly.
  • Submission of enrollments numbers in the first week of each 10-day training program and graduation numbers in the second week.
  • Uploading of documents (presentations, narrative reports, success stories) and media (lessons and graduation) to the Akazi Digital Literacy Drive.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full grade 12 Certificate.
  • University degree or diploma in computer science, science, math, social sciences, or related field; professional development certification in talent management, including learning and development, coaching, facilitation and related areas are considered an advantage.
  • Experience conducting training desired.
  • Computer literate (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Emails).
  • Strong organizational and innovative skills.
  • Strong engagement and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated intermediate understanding of basic computer upkeep and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of mobile computing including tablets, smartphones, E-readers, and apps.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work at different locations and weekend hours, as required to meet program needs and to attend related meetings/events.
