Family Development Initiatives (FDI) working with UNICEF will be implementing the Breaking the Cycle “Strengthening Community and Adolescent Partnerships to End Child Marriage and Adolescent Pregnancies in Zambia” project, which aims to end child marriages in Petauke and Chipata districts.

To successfully implement this project, FDI is recruiting for the following positions:

The FDI District Coordinator will serve as a key facilitator in implementing of the FDI/UNICEF Project each of the two target districts namely Chipata and Petauke. This role involves coordinating activities, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are aligned with community needs and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination:

Oversee the implementation of FDI/ UNICEF project within the district, ensuring activities align with project goals and timelines.
Collaborate with team members and partners to develop and execute project plans that address health, social accountability, resource governance, climate resilience, and rural enterprise.

Community Engagement and Advocacy:

Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, NGOs, and beneficiary groups.
Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and outreach initiatives to promote program objectives and gather feedback from stakeholders.

Capacity Building:

Conduct training sessions and capacity-building workshops for local community members, focusing on health practices, governance, and climate resilience strategies.
Support the development of community-led initiatives aimed at enhancing rural enterprise and resource management.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Collect, analyze, and report on data related to program outcomes, community engagement, and resource utilization.
Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders, detailing achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
Document best practices and success stories to share with the broader organization and stakeholders.
Expanding the Portfolio and stakeholder engagement
Actively support fundraising initiatives
Ensure meaningful stakeholder engagement for organisations, programme and project advancement

Qualifications

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Environmental Science, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience:

At least 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, particularly in health, governance, climate change, or rural development.
Experience working with community-based organizations and understanding the dynamics of rural enterprises.

Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Proven ability to facilitate training and workshops.
Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting methodologies.
