Family Development Initiatives (FDI) working with UNICEF will be implementing the Breaking the Cycle “Strengthening Community and Adolescent Partnerships to End Child Marriage and Adolescent Pregnancies in Zambia” project, which aims to end child marriages in Petauke and Chipata districts.

To successfully implement this project, FDI is recruiting for the following position:
Based in Lusaka at the FDI Hub, this is a full-time position that will report directly to the Finance Lead. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing project finances, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and supporting our mission to create positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure alignment with approved financial plans.
Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management, donors, and other stakeholders.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to FDI’s financial policies, donor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Disbursement: Manage payment processes for project activities, including reviewing and verifying financial documents.
Capacity Building: Provide financial training to project staff and partners to enhance their understanding of budgeting and compliance.
Records Management: Maintain accurate financial records, including receipts, invoices, and contracts.
Risk Management: Identify and address financial risks related to project implementation.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an NGO.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Pastel) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of donor regulations and financial reporting requirements.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
High integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.
