We are looking for an experienced Chief Human Officer (CHRCO) responsible for overseeing an organization’s human resource functions on behalf of a client in the tourism industry.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
1. Strategic:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on HR-related issues.
- Foster a positive organizational culture.
2. Talent Management:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies.
- Oversee talent acquisition, development, and succession planning.
- Manage employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Evaluate training effectiveness
3. Organizational Development:
- Design and implement organizational structures and processes.
- Lead change management initiatives.
- Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
4. HR Operations:
- Oversee HR systems, policies, and procedures.
- Manage employee data and analytics.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
5. Employee Relations:
- Develop and implement employee communication strategies.
- Handle employee complaints and grievances.
- Mediate conflicts and resolve disputes
- Foster positive employee relations
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives
- Foster positive labor relations.
6. Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer benefits programs
- Develop and manage compensation and benefits structures
- Conduct market analyses and salary surveys.
- Ensure compliance with benefits regulations.
7. Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate HR-related risks.
- Develop and implement workplace safety policies.
Manage workers’ compensation and employee injury claims.
8. Leadership Development:
- Develop and implement leadership development programs.
- Coach and mentor senior leaders.
- Succession planning for key positions.
9. Budgeting and Finance:
- Manage HR budget and finances.
- Develop cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze HR-related financial data.
10. Technology:
- Oversee HR technology systems (HRIS, payroll, etc.).
- Implement digital solutions for HR processes.
- Ensure data security and compliance.
11. Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement compliance policies.
12. Other:
- Represent the organization in HR-related matters.
- Collaborate with external partners (e.g., recruiters, consultants).
- Stay up-to-date with HR trends and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource
- 8-10 years of experience in Human Resource
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource (ZIRHM)
- Strong business acumen
- Strategic thinking
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to drive change and innovation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Labor Laws and Regulations
- Experience in tourism industry will be an added advantage
