Job description:

Overall Job Purpose :

To provide support to the section by assisting with implementation of livelihood programs relating to entrepreneurship and local employment through the strategic approach of stimulating, enhancement and sustaining local MSMEs.

Specific Job Responsibility :

  • Promote community awareness of all livelihood support programs carried out by the section.
  • Assist with organizing and mobilization for all events and activities to be carried out by the section (stimulation, enhancement, sustenance and local employment activities).
  • Assist with sorting or screening and development of business proposals for MSMEs to start, improve and expand their businesses.
  • Assist with market linkage activities such as farmer produce aggregation and exchange visits
  • Assist with conducting quarterly assessments of businesses supported
  • Assist with implementation of local business development projects as scheduled
  • Data collection for monthly report and monthly business opportunities report
  • Collection and reconciliation of TFL local business sales with zero anomalies
  • Regular update of asset register for the Section
  • Prepare weekly reports on activities carried out relating to the section.
  • Manage community expectations and ensure sustainability is imbedded in all our programs.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Experience required to perform in this job:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • At least 3 years’ practical experience in Community Development.
  • Sound Knowledge of business principles and sales.
  • Understanding and experience in building MSMEs capacity and rural development in particular.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in General Business Administration, Community Development, Agriculture or any related livelihood development qualification. Diploma is an added advantage.
  • Ability to drive a manual light vehicle, light-duty truck and/a motorbike.
  • Minimum Valid Class B driving license and willingness to ride a motorbike.
