BBC Media Action

BBC Media Action is the international development charity of the BBC.  BBC Media Action uses media and communication to reduce poverty and promote human rights in developing countries.  Our work in Zambia currently falls into two main thematic areas:  governance and health. We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Officer for the Sexual Gender Based Violence Project (Natwampane Project) funded by the EU.   Please note that the position involves extensive travel within Zambia.   The position is based in Kasama.

Overall Purpose of the Job:  Responsible for providing support to all finance and administration functions including the management of grants for the project.

Required knowledge, skills and experience

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a qualified accountant. Be an Affiliate Member of the relevant professional Body. Experience of working within the NGO sector and managing project budgets essential. Must have experience of managing subgrants. Excellent skills in forecasting, financial reporting and managing audits. Must have experience of standard procurement procedures. Experience of working with EU budgets and EU compliance is an advantage. A valid driving license strongly preferred.
