Gloria Inn Hotel Zambia Limited, a distinguished name in the hospitality industry, is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Situated in the vibrant city of Ndola, Zambia, our hotel is renowned for its commitment to excellence and delivering unforgettable dining experiences to our esteemed guests.

Position: Sous Chef
Reporting to: Head Chef

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  2. Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute creative and innovative menus that reflect seasonal offerings and guest preferences.
  3. Supervise kitchen staff and delegate tasks as necessary to ensure smooth operations during service.
  4. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering their growth and development.
  5. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  6. Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
  7. Contribute to menu development, recipe creation, and food costing in collaboration with the Head Chef.
  8. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Required:

  1. Full Grade 12 certificate.
  2. Diploma in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field preferred.
  3. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, demonstrating strong culinary skills and leadership abilities.
  4. Knowledge of kitchen operations, techniques, and best practices.
  5. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
  6. Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation regulations.
