MULTIPLE POSITIONS AT GOLDCHANCE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES LIMITED.
1. QUANTITY SURVEYOR – INTERN (2)
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Areas
* Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.
* Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.
* Managing project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.
* Provide expert advice on procurement, risk management and cost-saving measures.
* Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets from the sales team.
* Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.
* Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
* Participation in the pre-tendering activities with client, architect and project managers and raising relevant pre-bid queries from the given tender.
* Preparing the initial quote and contract for the sales team from the company’s side.
* Coordination with the design team for analysing architectural and service drawings.
* Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
* Preparing interim and final valuations, variations and claims of the construction site.
Required skills and qualifications * BSc. / BA/ Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or related field * Experience: Entry level 1 – 2 Years experience * Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations and standards. * Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques. * Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects. * Understanding general contracting, design-build, package. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities. * Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.
2. Electrician (1)
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Areas
* Providing in-house maintenance of all electrical appliances.
* Perform electrical installations, repairs and maintenance, including wiring and troubleshooting
* Examining electrical installations and determining faults and state of repairs required.
* Install, repair and maintain electrical systems and appliances.
* Install and repair electrical wiring, circuits, and components.
* Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
* Install and service generators of various sizes and types.
* Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
* Install lighting systems for various purposes, such as residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
Required skills and qualifications
* Must have a grade 12 certificate
* Must have a trade certificate in electrical
* 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
* Ability to use own initiative to solve problems and be able to work with minimum supervision and at times under pressure
* Adaptable and team focused and be able to work rotational shift patterns at times.
3. PLUMBER (1)
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Areas
* Providing in-house maintenance of all electrical appliances.
* Inspects reported defects on water reticulation and sewerage systems to establish the extent of repairs.
* Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
* Requests and collects tools, spares and other materials necessary to accomplish tasks.
* Unblocks sewerage systems (sewer lines)
* Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
* Install and repair pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment.
* Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.
* Install and repair water reticulation systems, including pipes, valves, and tanks.
* Ensure the efficient distribution of water to various points within a property.
* Install and maintain submersible pumps for water supply from underground sources.
* Install and maintain booster pumps to increase water pressure.
* Install and repair geysers for hot water supply.
Required skills and qualifications
(i) Grade 12 Certificate
(ii) Trade Certificate in Plumbing.
(iii) 1 – 2 years work experience,
4. Welder (1)
Required skills and qualifications
* Perform welding tasks on various materials, including steel and aluminium
* Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications and requirements.
* Inspect completed work to ensure that it meets quality standards and adheres to safety protocols.
* Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time.
* Fabricate metal structures, components, and assemblies according to specifications.
* Use cutting tools to shape and prepare metal for welding.
Required Skills and qualifications
(i) Grade 12 Certificate
(ii) Trade Certificate in welding .
(iii) 1 – 2 years work experience,
