INTRODUCTION

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1984 and currently operates in three provinces namely, Lusaka, Central and on the Copperbelt. The organization has been responding mainly to shelter needs and related issues such as water and sanitation to serve the most vulnerable families living in marginalized peri-urban communities within the three provinces.

Habitat for humanity Zambia is funding the:

i) DRILLING & CONSTRUCTION OF A BOREHOLE, EQUIPPING OF A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM, SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK, RETICULATION NETWORK WATER POINT TAPS AND CIVILWORKS, NGABWE DISTRICT x2 (Mukubwe & Chibungo)

ii) A BOREHOLE REHABILITATION (UPGRADE) FROM A HAND PUMP TO A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM, SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK, NGABWE

Habitat for Humanity Zambia promotes a community driven approach involving the Local Authority (Council), District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), Community members and its leadership from the onset during the planning, implementation, monitoring and completion of installation works. This ensures the development of local capacities in quality delivery of the product to the satisfaction of end users and the funding agencies in accordance with the scope of works (see annex 1 below).

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is now inviting bids from interested Vendors for LOT 1 of:

i) DRILLING & CONSTRUCTION OF A BOREHOLE, EQUIPPING OF A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM, SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK, RETICULATION NETWORK WATER POINT TAPS AND CIVILWORKS, NGABWE DISTRICT x2 (Mukubwe & Chibungo)

ii) A BOREHOLE REHABILITATION (UPGRADE) FROM A HAND PUMP TO A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM, SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK, NGABWE

The overall scope of work includes i) Drilling and full Casing of borehole ii) supply and install submersible pump and necessary accessories iii) Installation of tank stand and 10,000L Tank iv) Installation of Solar

panels and housing v) Construction of civil works -Borehole chamber, bucket rests, Water kiosks, Soak pits and stand tap apron vi) Pipe reticulation and plumbing works and vii) Wire Fencing works

ELIGIBLE BIDDERS
Habitat for Humanity Zambia reserves the rights to invite bids from its registered Venders.

The Bidder is required to possess the following general Eligibility and Compliance

-Cover letter and financial offer

-Valid NCC category B or C

-Valid ZPPA Certificate

-Valid PACRA Registration

-Valid TPIN

– Workers’ Compensation

-Company Profile with physical address

-Valid WARMA Drillers License class A, B, C,D

-Valid EIZ registration License

-Valid Tax Clearance certificate

-Provision of brief method statement

-Provision of 3 Months latest bank statements

-Duration of project & Gant chat showing schedule of works

Personnel, Experience and Equipment

-Registered EIZ Water engineer, civil engineer, hydrogeologist, hydrologist or related qualifications with diploma or degree added advantage with at least 2 years’ experience for supervision of work.

-Plumber with atleast 3 years’ experience

-Electrician with atleast 1 year experience (Solar specialized)

-Proof of carried out experience in similar works (Certifications of completion, award letters, Purchase orders etc).

-Drilling rig 4×4 able to access muddy roads

– Deep water meter (Hired or owned)

DEADLINE FOR BIDS SUBMISSION

All BIDs must be deposited in a Tender Box at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office on Plot 488a Twin Palms Road Kabulonga, Lusaka. The submission should also include a USB Flush Drive containing soft copies of all documents submitted no later than Tuesday, 18th February 2025 by 2:00 PM clearly marked “LOT 1”, and addressed to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee. The Bids will be opened on Tuesday 18th February 2025 at 2:30 PM at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office.

The site visit  will be conducted on Thursday 13th February 2025. All bidders are expected to assemble at Habitat for Humanity Zambia Kabwe Regional Office at 06:30hrs. The Bidder is mandated to visit and examine the site and its surroundings and obtain for itself, own risk and responsibility, all information that may be necessary for preparing the bid. SIGNING OF CONTRACT

Promptly upon notification, the Employer shall send the successful Bidder the contract agreement for review and signing.

PROJECT DURATION

The employer expects the project to be completed within 30 days of the date of signing the contract.
