Job Advert: Laboratory Technician (High School Science Lab)
Location: Zambia
Salary: ZMW 20,000 – 26,000 (net, depending on experience)
On behalf of one of our clients, a leading school offering the Cambridge Curriculum, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Laboratory Technician with 4+ years of experience working in a high school science laboratory. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in supporting practical science lessons and handling laboratory equipment and chemicals.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of laboratory materials, equipment, and chemicals for science lessons.
Assisting teachers in conducting IGCSE and A-Level Cambridge practicals.
Ensuring the lab is maintained to high safety standards, including proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment and chemicals.
Training and supervising students on proper laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
Supporting with the setup and clearing of practical exam sessions.
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience working in a school science laboratory.
Strong knowledge of IGCSE and A-Level Cambridge exam practicals.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Responsibilities:
Outside of laboratory duties, the individual must be willing to be actively involved in other areas of the school, contributing to school events, activities, or extra-curricular support.
