Job Vacancy: Human Resource Business Partner

Reports To: Senior Manager, Human Capital and Administration

Purpose of the Role:

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will provide end-to-end HR consultancy services to designated departmental clients, helping drive organizational change and supporting the management and employees to ensure alignment with company standards and Zambian legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition and Succession Planning:

  • Develop a talent acquisition strategy and identify the right tools and selection processes for the organization.
  • Administer recruitment policies and develop strategies for recruitment, selection, and retention.
  • Provide support for internships and student attachments.
  • Source qualified candidates and negotiate employment conditions.
  • Develop and implement proactive succession plans based on the organization’s needs.

Performance Management:

  • Manage employee performance to drive organizational success.
  • Develop performance appraisal systems that align individual and organizational goals.
  • Provide support, coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives within the department and company.

Employee Relations and Industrial Relations:

  • Address industrial relations issues proactively and engage with staff and union representatives.
  • Anticipate and highlight industrial relations challenges to management.
  • Coordinate meetings with unions/line managers and provide HR support.
  • Ensure conditions of employment are administered in line with company policies.
  • Oversee the administration of disciplinary and grievance procedures.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Advise on legal and industry requirements for salary administration.
  • Collaborate with other departments to establish compensation and benefits budgets.
  • Design competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Draft and design compensation policies and procedures.
  • Maintain data related to employee compensation and assist with payroll processing.
  • Handle ad hoc staff payments such as bonuses, leave passages, etc.

Administration and Support:

  • Ensure all employees have the correct PPE and necessary tools.
  • Provide accurate advice aligned with customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Manage HRIS and Payroll for engagements and exits.
  • Develop reporting tools, forms, and process flows for HR initiatives.
  • Ensure timely filing of employee documents.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an HR role.
  • Experience with SAGE 300 System (added advantage).
  • Full Member of ZIHRM.
  • All qualifications must be validated by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
