Purpose of the role:
To inspect and repair electrical systems and to carry out planned and preventative maintenance tasks on electrical equipment and systems on the electrical fleet.

Reports to: Construction Equipment Service Manager

Branch: Kitwe

Key Responsibilities:

The Auto Electrician will be required to perform the following tasks:

  •  Carry out periodical machine inspections and produce quotations as may be necessary.
  • Attend to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize machine downtime.
  • Identify and diagnose issues with machinery electrical systems.
  • Fix damaged electrical components and parts.
  • Use digital diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
  • Provide reliable service and support and exceptionally high standard of technical support to the customers.
  • Service, repair, and replace faulty wiring and electrical components and systems.
  • Provide technical support to customers (verbal and physical) to ensure products operate continuously.
  • Capture daily tasks on job cards.
  • Ensure queries concerning machinery are quickly and efficiently attended to.
  • Always Comply with safety policies and regulation
  • Correct PPE worn as per safety policy.
  •  Daily assessments performed to ensure good housekeeping.
  • Perform additional duties or responsibilities assigned by the service manager 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have a full Grade 12 certificate.
  • Craft Certificate in Auto Electrical or better.
  •  Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience.
  • Full Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  •  Must have a valid driver’s license.
