Short-Term Vacancy Announcement

Chemonics International Inc., Contractor for USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) which ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities in support of USG-funded public health initiatives around the world. The project provides direct procurement and supply chain management support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and Population and Reproductive Health. In supporting USG-funded global health activities, PSM will develop and manage a wide array of services for health commodity procurement and related systems strengthening technical assistance encompassing different elements of a comprehensive supply chain. The project seeks to recruit the following position:

Job Title: HR Short-Term Technical Assistance
Period: Two (2) months

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Human Resource Short-Term Technical Assistance, will work with the Human Resource Unit to strengthen and execute personnel filing management activities; ensuring compliance with local labour law, USG regulations, Chemonics policies, and promote quality management best practices.

  • Conduct a personnel file audit.
  • Complete the identified gaps and update against the personnel file checklist by ensuring the all files are scanned, saved and/or place on file both on the physical and digital space.
  • Reconcile the physical and digital personnel files.
  • Liaise, as appropriate, with other units, employees, and project management.
  • Follow up with staff to ensure timely execution of responsibilities.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding as needed.
  • Verify that USAID regulations, Chemonics policies, and quality management best practices are enforced consistently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum three (2-3) years’ experience in human resources with experience working for development projects and/or organizations
  • Knowledgeable of Zambian labor law
  • Ability to work in team environment a must; previous experience managing/supervising others highly preferred
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and high levels of professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and with high level of integrity
  • Written and spoken fluency in English required

Supervision and Location of Assignment

HR STTA will report directly to the Human Resources Specialist or his/her designee and the location of assignment is Lusaka, Zambia.
