ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensuring that the college’s curriculum is up-to-date, rigorous, and aligned with industry standards. Leading efforts to develop new programs and courses.

Hiring, mentoring, and evaluating faculty members. Encouraging professional development and research activities among faculty.

Overseeing academic advising, support services, and student success initiatives. Ensuring a supportive learning environment.

Developing and managing the college’s budget. Allocating resources effectively to support academic programs and initiatives.

Enforcing university policies within the college. Developing and implementing university college-specific policies as needed.

Ensuring the college meets accreditation standards and complies with relevant laws and regulations.

Aligning the college’s goals with the broader mission and vision of the university. Setting strategic priorities and goals for the university college

Engaging in fundraising activities, seeking grants, and building relationships with donors to support the college’s initiatives.

Utilizing data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and improve academic and operational outcomes.

Building and maintaining relationships with industry leaders, community organizations, and other educational institutions to enhance the college’s programs and opportunities for students.

Serving as the public face of the university college. Representing the college at events, conferences, and in the media.

Engaging with alumni to build a supportive community and leveraging their expertise and resources for the benefit of the university college.

Leading the college through crises, such as responding to student or faculty issues, managing emergencies, and ensuring continuity of operations.

Promoting a diverse and inclusive environment within the University College. Implementing initiatives that support underrepresented groups.

Overseeing extracurricular activities, student organizations, and other aspects of student life within the University College.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Substantial and successful experience of managing at a senior level including promoting
    and managing change
  •  Extensive knowledge and experience of the sector and the issues and challenges
  • Proven track record of success
  • Experience working with a wide range of strategic stakeholders
  • Experience in representing further education
  •  Master’s degree with 8 years of teaching experience
  • 2 years of experience in administration
